A Packed Week (and Month) for Smartphone Launches
If you've been holding off on a phone upgrade, July 2026 might be the month to pull the trigger. Six smartphones spanning budget battery champions to premium foldables are launching in rapid succession, giving buyers across every price bracket something to consider. Here's a complete breakdown of what's arriving, when, and what makes each one worth watching.
July 15: Moto Edge 70 Max & realme Narzo 100x
Motorola Edge 70 Max
Motorola is kicking off the week with its most ambitious Edge phone yet. The Edge 70 Max marks the brand's first-ever "Max" model, and it's positioned to go toe-to-toe with sub-flagship rivals thanks to genuinely high-end hardware.
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (3nm) with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM
- Display: Quad HD+ 10-bit LTPO AMOLED, 144Hz refresh rate, up to 7,000 nits peak brightness, Gorilla Glass 7i
- Battery: 7,100mAh with 90W wired charging and 25W magnetic wireless charging — a first for the Edge series
- Cooling: A large vapor chamber system (around 5,000-5,500mm²) to keep the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in check
- Design: A shift away from Motorola's signature curved edges to a flatter, more contemporary aluminium-and-glass build
With flagship-tier specs on paper, this could be one of the most compelling mid-to-upper-range Android phones of the summer.
realme Narzo 100x 5G
Realme's answer for the day is squarely aimed at buyers who care about one thing above all else: battery endurance. The Narzo 100x 5G is built around an 8,000mAh battery that Realme claims can deliver up to three days of typical use.
- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (6nm) with up to 14GB of RAM and 256GB storage
- Display: LCD panel with 144Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits peak brightness
- Battery: 8,000mAh with 45W Ultra Charge, rated to retain over 80% health after four years
- Camera: 50MP dual rear setup with an AI Pulse Light notification ring, plus an 8MP front camera
- Durability: MIL-STD-810H certification for shock and drop resistance
- Software: Realme UI 7.0 on Android 16, with Gemini Live and several on-device AI tools built in
July 16: vivo T5 Lite 44W
Vivo follows up with another battery-and-durability focused entrant. The T5 Lite 44W slots in as the entry point of vivo's 2026 T-series lineup, trading resolution for stamina.
- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 6300
- Display: 6.74-inch HD+ LCD, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,200 nits peak brightness
- Battery: 6,500mAh with 44W fast charging — a big jump from the T4 Lite's 6,000mAh/15W combo
- Durability: IP65 rating plus military-grade certification
- Camera: 50MP primary rear sensor with a secondary lens, side-mounted fingerprint scanner
The HD+ resolution is a notable trade-off in a market increasingly moving to Full HD+, but the combination of a power-sipping chipset and a lower-res panel should translate into excellent real-world battery life. Expect pricing under ₹15,000.
July 17: TECNO Camon 50 Ultra
TECNO is positioning the Camon 50 Ultra as a camera-first phone for creators, and the spec sheet backs that up. It's built around TECNO's "Sees It All" philosophy, with AI tools baked into the capture and editing workflow.
- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage
- Display: 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED, 144Hz refresh rate — an uncommon combination at this price point
- Cameras: Triple rear setup with a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and an 8MP ultrawide; 50MP autofocus selfie camera up front
- Durability: MIL-STD-810 certification with IP68/IP69K dust and water resistance
- AI features: Intelligent photo enhancement and object removal tools
- Software: HiOS 16 on Android 16, with three years of promised major OS upgrades
Expect pricing in the ₹18,000–₹23,000 range, positioning it against some of the most feature-dense mid-rangers currently on shelves.
July 22: Samsung Galaxy Unpacked — Z Fold 8 & Z Flip 8
The biggest event of the month by far. Samsung is hosting its summer Galaxy Unpacked in London — a break from its usual Seoul, New York, or San Francisco venues — and is expected to unveil three foldables rather than the usual two.
- Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Ultra): The direct successor to the Fold 7, expected with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, an 8-inch inner display, 6.5-inch cover screen, and a battery bump to 5,000mAh with 45W charging. Rumors also point to the possible return of S Pen support.
- Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide: An entirely new landscape-oriented foldable with a wider 4:3 inner display (7.6 inches) and a 5.4-inch cover screen, weighing around 200g — lighter than the standard model. It reportedly drops the telephoto lens for a simpler dual 50MP camera setup and packs a 4,800mAh battery.
- Galaxy Z Flip 8: Samsung's clamshell foldable returns with expected refinements including a tighter hinge/crease, faster charging, and the Exynos 2600 chipset in most markets.
Samsung is also expected to show off the Galaxy Watch 9 series and possibly its first smart glasses at the same event. Given ongoing memory-chip pricing pressure across the industry, expect the Fold and Flip lineup to carry a price increase over their predecessors.
July 24: iQOO Z11 Lite
Rounding out the month is the iQOO Z11 Lite, successor to last year's Z10 Lite and squarely aimed at buyers who want dependable everyday performance without spending much.
- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 6300, with iQOO claiming an AnTuTu score north of 579,000
- Display: 6.74-inch HD+ IPS LCD, 120Hz refresh rate
- Battery: 6,500mAh with 44W fast charging — up considerably from the Z10 Lite's 6,000mAh/15W setup
- Design: Flat-frame build with a "Dynamic Light" multi-colour LED notification ring beneath the camera module, available in Solar Flame and Midnight Blue
- Software: OriginOS 6 on Android 16, with "Non-Stop Intelligence" AI features including AI Creation and AI Captions
Expect pricing to land somewhere around ₹11,500–₹13,000, making it one of the more aggressively priced 5G options of the month.
Which One Should You Buy?
It really comes down to what you value most:

- Maximum battery life: The realme Narzo 100x or vivo T5 Lite
- Camera-first mid-ranger: The TECNO Camon 50 Ultra
- Budget-friendly everyday reliability: The iQOO Z11 Lite
Most of these launches are India-first, with several official spec sheets still to be fully confirmed at their respective launch events. We'll be updating with pricing and availability details as each phone goes official.
