TCS and ABB Sign Multi-Year Deal to Transform Global Network Operations with AI
TCS and ABB sign multi-year deal to transform global network operations with AI, expanding a 20-year partnership into an end-to-end intelligent infrastructure model.

TCS and ABB sign multi-year deal to transform global network operations with AI through a major partnership expansion. This multi-million agreement gives TCS end-to-end responsibility for ABB’s global network infrastructure.
Announced on July 13, 2026, the engagement supports ABB’s Future Network Model programme. Therefore, this initiative replaces fragmented regional networks with a secure, standardized digital infrastructure.
TCS and ABB Sign Multi-Year Deal to Transform Global Network Operations with AI
Under this agreement, TCS will manage ABB’s ecosystem as an AI-driven network-as-a-service model. First, the scope includes Service Integration and Management to coordinate multiple vendors into one layer.
Additionally, a Global Network Operations Center will provide unified visibility across all regions. Advanced security capabilities also embed compliance and threat protection throughout the entire network fabric.
Furthermore, TCS will modernize LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN infrastructure using scalable software-defined alternatives. Finally, end-to-end monitoring enables continuous service improvement through artificial intelligence.
ABB aims for a network that senses, adapts, and improves continuously. Consequently, AI sits at the operational core rather than functioning as a simple add-on.
A Strategic Shift in a 20-Year Partnership
This relationship spans two decades and has delivered large-scale transformation programmes previously. For example, past projects consolidated disparate ERP systems into a single unified SAP platform.
However, this new agreement represents a significant qualitative shift in scope. TCS now acts as a strategic programme partner responsible for architecture and integration.
This backbone supports roughly 110,000 ABB employees worldwide. Alec Joannou, Group CIO at ABB, called it a foundational investment for long-term transformation goals.
Anupam Singhal of TCS highlighted their “infrastructure to intelligence” approach. He noted that embedding AI builds a resilient, intelligent network backbone supported by deep domain expertise.
Why Enterprise AI Matters for Network Operations
This engagement illustrates a growing pattern in enterprise technology adoption. Large organizations are moving beyond point solutions toward AI-embedded operational frameworks.
Intelligence is now woven directly into the infrastructure itself. For TCS, this contract signals its ambition to become the world’s largest AI-led technology services company.
High-value engagements with global industrials anchor TCS’s revenue base. Moreover, legacy network architectures often become bottlenecks for operational efficiency and security.
A centralized, AI-monitored approach is increasingly a competitive necessity. As models grow more capable, enterprises must also consider how pricing shifts affect deployment economics.
Redefining IT Services Through Transformation
IT services firms are repositioning themselves as transformation partners rather than just task providers. They now own outcomes instead of simply delivering defined services cost-efficiently.
Network operations represent a key battleground for this industry shift. The convergence of SD-WAN, zero-trust security, and edge computing changes how networks operate today.
For ABB, getting this right across 100 countries is not optional. Ultimately, value comes from building infrastructure that actively improves business outcomes over time.
