Synthesia Opens Syren Beta: One Prompt Builds Marketing Videos With Motion Graphics, Avatars and Voiceover Up to Three Minutes

Synthesia launched Syren in beta on 9 Oct 2026: describe a video or share a doc and an AI agent builds motion graphics, avatars and voiceover in the browser. Every plan got 2,000 launch credits that expire 9 Nov 2026.

Synthesia launched Syren in beta on 9 October 2026, pitching it as an AI video agent that turns a prompt, a preset, or branded files into a finished clip with motion graphics, avatars, voiceover, music and b-roll.

CTO Peter Hill framed the release as agent-first editing: you describe the video, Syren builds it live in the browser, then you refine it in chat instead of cutting scenes by hand. The company says the underlying rendering engine has been powering motion graphics inside Synthesia since June.

Access is open on Basic, Starter, Pro and Enterprise. Synthesia handed each user 2,000 Syren-only launch credits on 9 October, expiring 9 November 2026 at 23:59 BST. After that, Syren draws from the account’s standard credit pool.

What Syren actually does

According to Synthesia’s launch post and product FAQ, you start from a prompt or a preset, optionally attach documents, images, videos, PowerPoints or YouTube links, then watch a live preview while the agent writes the video as code and the in-house engine renders it.

The editor adds playback, a transcript view and chat-based edits. You can ask Syren to change the script, swap an avatar or voice, restyle a scene, or fix music and shot types. Some on-canvas tweaks (move a heading, retype text) apply immediately without waiting for a full rebuild.

Clips can run up to three minutes in landscape 16:9 or portrait 9:16. Exports go through Generate with resolution options from source 1080p down to 360p. Interactive avatars and live conversations are not available in Syren, and avatar scenes longer than 30 seconds can time out, per the help article updated after launch.

Where Syren sits next to Studio

Synthesia is careful about scope. Syren is for speed and creative output: launch reels, explainers, how-tos, feature walkthroughs, marketing clips and ads. The existing Synthesia editor (Studio) stays the path for exact, repeatable work such as learning content, compliance, onboarding and internal communications.

That split matters. Teams that need line-level script control, localization and SCORM-style training workflows should not treat Syren as a replacement. Teams that need a first cut of a product launch video without hiring motion designers get a narrower, more useful tool.

The pattern matches other October product moves that push agents into creative work, from Claude Motion’s code-based MP4 explainers to Google Playground’s prompt-built browser games.

Pricing in USD, and what one video costs

Synthesia’s pricing page lists Basic at $0 per month (10 minutes of video or dubbing, 3 survey responses, 500 credits, watermark on Basic Syren videos), Starter at $29 per month billed monthly with 1,250 credits, and Pro from $89 per month billed monthly with 6,000 credits on the plan card shown at launch. Enterprise is custom.

Syren itself is credit-based. Synthesia says a one-minute Syren video typically uses 1,000 to 2,000 credits, and a two-minute video with up to two edit rounds typically lands in the same 1,000 to 2,000 credit band, with actual use depending on length, complexity and how much you refine. Launch credits are Syren-only, cannot be shared or redeemed, and expire after one month.

Item What Synthesia states
Plans with Syren Basic, Starter, Pro, Enterprise
Basic watermark Yes on Syren videos; download/share enabled for first 2 weeks on Basic
Launch credits 2,000 per user from 9 Oct 2026, expire 9 Nov 2026 23:59 BST
Typical credit use About 1,000 to 2,000 credits for a ~1 to 2 minute Syren video with light edits
Max length 3 minutes
Aspect ratios 16:9 and 9:16 when starting from scratch

On Starter’s 1,250 monthly credits alone, one heavy Syren draft can consume most of the month’s pool before you touch dubbing or surveys. The launch credits are the practical on-ramp. After 9 November, teams should budget Syren against the same credit currency they already use for other Synthesia AI features.

Confirmed versus still coming

Claim Status
Beta live for self-serve, free and Enterprise customers Confirmed in launch post and help docs
Prompt, presets, docs, images, video, PPT, YouTube as inputs Confirmed
Live browser render, chat refinement, up to 3 minutes Confirmed
Users own commercial Syren videos (subject to rights on uploads) Confirmed in product FAQ
Full brand kits that learn typography and motion style from existing company videos Described as coming soon; launch post says Syren will soon learn brand from existing videos
Personal Avatar or cloned voice inside Syren Not in Syren; Synthesia says use Studio for those
Interactive avatars in Syren Not available

Keep the roadmap separate from the shipping product. Baseline brand color application is already marketed on the Syren product page, but the deeper “learn from our past videos” kit is still framed as upcoming.

What it means for Indian developers

For Indian product and growth teams, Syren is useful when you need a first marketing or feature explainer without waiting on a motion designer in another timezone. Starter at $29 per month is within reach for many SaaS startups, and the free Basic tier lets you test with a watermark before you spend.

Credit math still bites. If a polished one-minute launch clip burns 1,500 credits, Starter’s 1,250 monthly credits alone will not cover repeated Syren experiments once launch credits expire. Pair Syren with cheaper audio tools when you only need a jingle or voice bed, similar to how teams already treat ElevenLabs’ creative contests and voice workflows.

Enterprise admins can disable Syren org-wide, which matters for regulated Indian firms that want Studio-only training content. Also review avatars and audio before public posts: Synthesia marks Syren as beta and tells users to check output before sharing.

Practical takeaways

Syren is a real product launch, not a teaser. The useful part is the agent-as-editor loop: live render plus chat edits, capped at three minutes, aimed at creative marketing video rather than LMS courses.

The constraints are equally clear. It is beta. Free output is watermarked. Credits can eat a Starter plan fast. Personal avatars and cloned voices stay in Studio. Full brand learning from past company videos is still ahead.

If you already live in Synthesia for training videos, treat Syren as a second lane for launch and social clips. If you are new to the platform, use the 2,000 launch credits before 9 November 2026, export a couple of short tests, and only then decide whether Starter or Pro credits make sense next to other generative video and image tools such as FLUX 3 for still assets.

FAQ

Synthesia published the Syren launch on 9 October 2026. The product is labeled beta and appears as a Syren entry under Tools in the left-hand navigation.

How much does Syren cost in USD?

Syren runs on credits. Every user received 2,000 Syren launch credits on 9 October 2026 that expire 9 November 2026 at 23:59 BST. After that, usage comes from plan credits. Basic is $0 per month with a watermark on Syren videos. Starter is listed at $29 per month and Pro from $89 per month on monthly billing. Synthesia estimates about 1,000 to 2,000 credits for a typical one to two minute Syren video with light edits.
