Claude Dashboards and Motion Enter Beta: Live Query Charts on Paid Plans, Code Based MP4 Explainers on Team and Enterprise

Anthropic put Claude Dashboards in beta on paid plans and Claude Motion on Team and Enterprise. Docs, Slides, and Design leave beta for every plan, including Free, with the standalone Design site closing Dec 14, 2026.

Claude by Anthropic wordmark

Anthropic put two new Claude artifacts into beta: Claude Dashboards, which turns plain-language questions into live, query-backed charts from connected data platforms, and Claude Motion, which turns reports and walkthroughs into editable, code-based animations you can download as MP4 files. The company says Docs, Slides, and Design are out of beta and available on every Claude plan, including Free.

In Build live dashboards and animate explainers with Claude, Anthropic frames the launch as closing a gap between asking Claude for help and getting a shareable artifact. Dashboards is in beta on paid plans. Motion is in beta on Team and Enterprise. Enterprise admins get both off by default until they flip Artifacts settings.

That is a product story, not a model drop. After a busy stretch of Claude 5.5 releases, Anthropic is pushing Claude as a workplace surface for data questions and short explainers, with BI handoffs and video-tool exports rather than a closed island. Secondary coverage from Android Authority matches the same plan splits and Free access for Docs, Slides, and Design.

What Claude Dashboards actually does

Connect a company data platform such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, or Snowflake, then ask in plain language. Anthropic says Claude pulls answers, builds a dashboard, and keeps it current as the source data changes. Salesforce opportunity dashboards are an explicit CRM example. Click a number to see the query behind it, or ask Claude to explain it. Each chart shows when its data was last refreshed.

Anthropic positions Dashboards next to existing BI tools, not as a replacement. You can send a Claude dashboard into Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, or Sigma for deeper analysis. Looker, monday.com, and Tableau are listed as coming soon. That handoff list is useful for teams that already standardized on one of those products and do not want another permanent dashboard home.

The honest limit is the same as any natural-language SQL layer: wrong joins, stale permissions, and overconfident charts still need a human who knows the warehouse. Anthropic’s own pitch leans on visible queries, which is the right default. Treat the beta as a fast exploratory layer, not as audited financial reporting without review.

What Claude Motion promises, and what it refuses

Motion is for short explainers. Anthropic’s examples include turning a quarterly report into a 30-second all-hands clip, adding motion to a board-deck chart, or building a product walkthrough for customer onboarding. Claude writes code that animates text, charts, shapes, and images. You can edit words, numbers, and timing in the editor or ask Claude to revise, then download an MP4.

Importantly, Anthropic says Motion does not use a video generation model. There is no generated footage and no AI-generated people. That is a deliberate product choice after months of synthetic-video noise. When you need more polish, Anthropic lists open paths into Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI, or Runway, with Canva and Captions coming soon.

Availability is narrower than Dashboards. Motion beta is Team and Enterprise only. If you are on Pro or Max for coding and chat, do not assume Motion is in your account until Anthropic expands it.

Docs, Slides, Design leave beta; Design website closes Dec 14

Anthropic says people have made more than 45 million docs, decks, and designs in Claude since Docs, Slides, and Design landed in every conversation. Those three leave beta and sit on Free as well as paid. Enterprise notes include CMEK support for Artifacts, admin control over which artifact templates an organization uses, team co-editing with Claude, external sharing when admins allow it, PowerPoint and PDF exports that keep formatting, Google Slides as editable files, and mobile editing.

Claude Design is folding the standalone site into Claude. Design has worked inside conversations since September 16, 2026. The standalone URL at claude.ai/design stays until December 14, 2026 so teams can migrate. Anthropic says one migration brings over every design system in an organization, originals stay until close, project files keep working until then, and chats, comments, and public standalone links will not survive the shutdown. That December date is a real calendar risk for anyone still living on the old design URL.

How this fits Anthropic’s agent week

The same week brought heavier agent news. Anthropic redesigned Claude Projects for Claude Code so parallel cloud threads keep working after you close the laptop, which we covered in the Claude Projects redesign post. Separately, Anthropic’s Oct 9 transparency report on unintended agent actions cut live internet for internal evaluations, detailed in our agent misuse report.

Dashboards and Motion sit on the consumer and enterprise artifact side of that story. They are less about autonomous browsing and more about controllable outputs with visible SQL and editable animation code. Google’s Gemini agent pitch for Workspace and Microsoft 365, still in private preview in our Gemini Agent coverage, is selling long-running coworkers. Claude’s launch is selling dashboards and explainers you can inspect.

What it means for Indian developers

If you build for Indian startups and SaaS teams on Claude Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise, Dashboards is the nearer win: BigQuery and Snowflake are common, and plain-language charts with visible SQL can cut ticket lag for growth and finance questions. Motion matters more for Team and Enterprise sales, onboarding, and all-hands decks that need a short MP4 without generative video risk.

Pricing still starts from Anthropic’s published USD plan and API rates. There is no India-only Dashboards surcharge listed in the launch article. Teams that already leaned on cheaper API tiers after the Haiku 5.5 price cut should separate chat token spend from whether a Team seat is worth Motion and shared Artifacts.

Compliance notes for India banks and health-adjacent buyers: Enterprise can keep Dashboards and Motion off until admins enable them, CMEK is called out for Artifacts, and external sharing is admin-gated. That is stronger than many consumer AI toys, but warehouse connectors still need DPDP-aware data scoping. Do not connect production PII tables to a beta exploratory tool without a review.

Skeptical read

The 45 million artifact count is a vendor metric with no independent audit. Coming soon for Tableau and Looker is the line enterprises will ask about first, because many still live there. Motion’s code-based approach avoids deepfake people, which is good, yet short explainers still need brand review before customer-facing use.

Also watch the Design migration deadline. December 14 is concrete. Chats and comments on the standalone site will not move. If your design system or public links still hang off claude.ai/design, migrate now rather than after a holiday week surprise.

Bottom line: this is a credible product expansion with clear plan gates and primary-source detail. It is not a frontier model launch, and it does not answer when Motion reaches individual Pro users. For builders, the useful part is inspectable outputs: SQL under charts, editable animation code, and admin kill switches on Enterprise.

Who can use Claude Dashboards today?

Anthropic says Dashboards is in beta on paid Claude plans. Enterprise keeps it off by default until an admin enables Artifacts settings.

Who can use Claude Motion?

Motion beta is limited to Team and Enterprise. The launch post does not promise Free or individual Pro access.

Does Motion generate AI video of people?

No. Anthropic says Motion animates your text, charts, shapes, and images with code. It does not use a video generation model and does not create AI-generated people.

Are Docs, Slides, and Design free now?

Yes, according to Anthropic. Those three leave beta and are available on every plan, including Free. Enterprise defaults them on from October 15, 2026, or admins can enable them earlier.

When does the standalone Claude Design site shut down?

Anthropic says claude.ai/design remains until December 14, 2026. Migrate design systems from the Artifacts page before then if you still rely on the standalone version.
