A Bigger Weekly Allowance for Claude Code
Anthropic has rolled out a limited-time promotion that gives Claude Code users significantly more room to work each week. For a defined stretch this summer, weekly usage limits are boosted by 50% — meaning developers leaning on Claude Code for real projects can code longer and lean less on the clock.
The promotion originally had a shorter window, but Anthropic has since extended it. The increased limits are now confirmed to run through July 19, 2026.
Who Qualifies
The extra headroom isn't universal, but it does cover most paying users. Eligible plans include:
- Pro
- Max
- Team
- Legacy seat-based Enterprise plans
Two groups are left out of this round: Free plan users and consumption-based Enterprise seats. If your organization has moved to usage-based Enterprise billing rather than the older seat model, this promotion won't apply to you.
What Exactly Changes
The 50% bump applies specifically to weekly usage limits in Claude Code — and it follows you across every surface where Claude Code runs: the command line interface, IDE extensions, the desktop app, and the web. Your 5-hour usage limit stays exactly the same; this promotion doesn't touch it.
It's also worth noting the scope is narrow by design. Usage limits for other Claude products — the standard Claude web, desktop, and mobile apps, as well as Claude Cowork — are unaffected. This is a Claude Code-specific perk.

Once July 19, 2026 passes (specifically 11:59 PM PT), weekly usage limits will quietly revert to their standard levels. There's no impact on your billing or plan status — the limits simply return to normal.
The Fine Print
A few details worth keeping in mind:
- The offer runs from May 13, 2026 through July 19, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT.
- It applies only to Pro, Max, Team, and legacy seat-based Enterprise plans.
- It has no cash value and cannot be transferred.
- It cannot be combined with other offers.
The Bigger Picture
Promotions like this one are a signal of how central Claude Code has become to Anthropic's product strategy. As more developers shift serious day-to-day work — refactors, debugging sessions, multi-file features — onto agentic coding tools, usage limits become a real friction point. A temporary 50% increase gives heavy users a chance to stretch their workflows without immediately hitting a wall, while Anthropic presumably gathers usage data to inform longer-term limit and pricing decisions.
